1.1. Rentcroo E-Services Philippines, Inc.and its affiliates (collectively or individually, “RentCroo PH”, “we”, or “us”) take your privacy seriously. Depending on your location and transaction, the entity controlling your personal data is Rentcroo E-Services Philippines, Inc.
1.2. RentCroo PH is committed to handling your personal data in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), and issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).
1.3. In the course of you using RentCroo PH's applications and websites (both web and mobile versions), as well as products, information, functions, and other services operated by RentCroo PH, we will be collecting, using, disclosing, storing, and/or processing data, including your personal data. In this Privacy Policy, Platform shall refer to all relevant applications and websites, and Services shall refer to all rental marketplace products, payment and deposit safeguards, verification systems, and logistics coordination tools provided from time to time.
1.4. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes we make to this Privacy Policy in the future will be reflected on this page. Where permissible under local laws, your continued use of the Services or access to the Platform shall constitute your acknowledgment and acceptance of the modifications.
2. Personal Data We Collect
2.1. We collect personal data about you whenever you use our Platform or Services, as set out below:
Which includes your full name, date of birth (for 18+ age verification), gender, public handle or username (used for marketplace browsing and chats to protect your legal name), password, email address, telephone/mobile number, government-issued ID details, facial image verification photos, and any personal data in photographs, video recordings, or documentation uploaded onto our Platform.
• Where you are a Commercial Lessor or Business Owner:We may also collect your company name, business address, DTI / SEC registration number, Mayor's Business Permit, Tax Identification Number (TIN), BIR Certificate of Registration, and authorized representative details.
Which includes payout destination account details (GCash, Maya, Bank Account), billing/pickup address, booking orders, security deposit authorizations, rental start/return condition documentation, and damage protection claim records.
Which includes information about how and when you use the Platform, products viewed, IP addresses, device identifiers, operating system, and system security telemetry.
Which includes your communication preferences, feedback, survey responses, and customer support communications on the Platform.
Such as when you search for equipment rentals near your location, or when coordinating delivery or pickup status.
3. How We Receive Your Personal Data
3.1. During the course of your use of the Platform and our provision of the Services, we may receive personal data from you in the following situations:
- (a) When you browse our website or mobile application;
- (b) When you register an account with us (as a renter, lessor, or business owner);
- (c) When, as a lessor, you list items for rent and transact with renters;
- (d) When you submit government ID documentation or complete account verification checks;
- (e) When you complete a rental booking or authorize deposit holds;
- (f) When you use supported payment gateways or channels (e.g. PayMongo, GCash, Maya);
- (g) When you use platform messaging and communication tools;
- (h) When you record or upload condition documentation, photos, or reviews;
- (i) When you submit customer support requests, damage claims, or dispute reports.
4. Purposes of Processing
4.1. We process your personal data for the following legitimate purposes:
- Identity & Trust Verification: Validating that users participating in eligible transactions are verified individuals holding valid identification.
- Marketplace Contract Facilitation: Generating and administering rental transactions and agreements between renters and lessors.
- Privacy Safeguards: Providing public handles/usernames on marketplace browsing and chats to protect user contact information.
- Payment & Deposit Administration: Processing rental payments, administering deposit holds, and facilitating verified lessor payouts.
- Platform Security & Compliance: Fraud prevention, platform security, abuse detection, transaction integrity, and enforcement of platform policies.
5. Your Rights Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012
Under RA 10173, you have the right to be informed, access, correct, object to processing, request erasure or blocking of your personal data, and lodge complaints with the National Privacy Commission (NPC).
